Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Furlong does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything the app knows is stored only on your device.
This is not a promise about how we behave. The app contains no networking code at all, so there is no mechanism by which your data could be sent anywhere.
Nothing. Furlong has no accounts, no sign-in, no servers, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. We do not know who you are, we cannot see how you use the app, and we have no way of finding out.
With your permission, Furlong reads the following from Apple Health, so it can understand your training and suggest your next run:
Why the last two: age affects how much training load a body tolerates, and biological sex is used in the app's bone-stress guidance, where the underlying research differs. Both are read once and used only in that calculation.
Furlong never writes to Apple Health. The app requests read-only access; its write permission set is empty.
Health data is read on your device, used on your device to produce your recommendation, and shown only to you. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with third parties, and never sold. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
If you decline Health access, the app still runs — it simply has no history to reason about.
To work, Furlong saves the following locally on your iPhone:
This information stays on your device. You can erase all of it at any time in Settings → Delete all data, and deleting the app removes it entirely.
If you turn on the morning brief, Furlong schedules a local notification on your device. It is handled entirely by iOS. No notification data is sent to us or anyone else.
Furlong includes no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs. No data is shared with any third party, because none is collected and there is no code capable of sending it.
Furlong does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Furlong provides general training guidance based on published training-load research. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition. Pain that persists, worsens, or changes how you move belongs to a doctor or physiotherapist. Always seek professional advice before starting or changing an exercise programme.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
